It’s been sometime since I updated our website…my excuse is I’ve been extremely busy with firstly the preparation of this Cataract surgery programme in Ayounne, Mauritania..To raise the money has been incredibly tough…
But we did manage to achieve our aims and objectives finally..

So I’m happy to report that our programme was well executed by our fabulous team of 4 Dr’s.

Nothing goes without a hitch, our issue was flights…
One of our flights was delayed causing problems all round…
Finally after much stress our Drs arrived in Nouakchott..
The drive to Ayounne was 9 hours, so another full day before they were able to begin work…
Time was limited, but because of their excellent skills our Drs managed to examine 1300 patients and Operate on 128 ..
Each of the individuals who had a consultation with a Dr also received, eye creams or eye drops, sun glasses and or reading spectacles.

In total we were able to give at least 900 pairs of sunglasses along with more than 1000 pairs of reading spectacles.

We are incredibly grateful to all who chose to support our programme there..Without whom, we wouldn’t possibly be able to have helped so many blind to see…
