We had a major problem here last week..it was to be a special ceremony for a new chief of village..so the hunters were called in to sing, dance and shoot their guns into the air..its tradition..They loaded the guns with powder directly in front of me, and several times I really jumped from the power and noise the guns made..
I went in the morning and left about 12.15pm..luckily…as I learned in the afternoon that there had been a huge disaster..the gunpowder had been kept in a bucket and a spark had dropped into it…at least 50 people were injured..one died a couple of days later..
Villageventures was able to donate gloves, antibiotics and several other medicines so we are grateful to you all for your support.. pam
