Yesterday I was in shock,when, two sisters came to bring me a donation of £70.Apparently unbeknown to their mum, these sisters, along with their friends, held a fundraising event, at school by making cakes and selling them..
It bought me to tears, how wonderful to show such charity to those who have so little..
One of our programmes this year is to find a placement for our mentally handicapped young man in Diema,who has no support whatsoever with his disabilities.
We have entered talks with a the owner of a school for handicapped children in Bamako,the capital of Mali, which is 350 Kms from our town.
Obviously this move will mean we have to find funding, for school placement,as well as accommodation etc..
The money these girls have raised will go towards helping this young man have a chance of a better, brighter future.
