It’s a really busy and exciting time right now, as we are gearing up to have 25 to 30 Drs, Surgeons and team members, come to Diema to do Cataract operations for 250 people.
It’s a first. It’s a very necessary programme for our people in Mali, many suffer for want of food and water, then to find that blindness is added to an already tough life, makes it a real privilege to assist in some small way by helping some of our blind to see.
Obviously this is an expensive programme for us to fund.
Village Ventures must provide all consumables, including 1500 pairs spectacles, 250 pairs of lenses. These have now been sourced and we have the ptoformas for them. Costs of Transportation which will be a bus, from Bamako to Diema for the team of Drs, plus food and accommodation as well, for the duration of the 7 days, also has to be covered.
We are hoping to raise some of the much needed funds via a concert at a local theatre. Details will follow.
We would be grateful if anyone has other ideas to assist us in raising funds for this worthy cause, if so, please contact us.
