Village Ventures Africa

This is Oumar our young man I wanted to send to a school in Bamako…Sadly I was the one who felt it necessary to send him away from Diema, to a school especially equipped for individuals with mental illnesses.
When I arrived here, he came and asked me..please, I want to stay in Diema, I prefer not to go to Bamako….
Then I understood…..we can’t fit people into our way of thinking..
So now the plan is to pay for a specialist to come to Diema to assess his needs and hopefully that way we can help change his life…
He looks so happy here with a Village Ventures Africa volunteer.. Max…whose worked here for 10 day’s.. wonderful..so there are still individual tourists passing through Mali…great to have him here.x
